PlantEd-AAB Training School – Communicating the Science of Gene-Edited Crops

PlantEd is, together with the Association of Applied Biologists in UK, organising a Training School on the topic “Communicating the Science of Gene-Edited Crops”.

Dates: 28-29 April 2022

Venue: Rothamsted Research, Harpenden, UK

Participants: limited to 50 in total (of which 15 will be financially supported by PlantEd)

Deadline for application: 11 March

You will find all the details, including programme and application procedure, on the event webpage: https://web.cvent.com/event/fca4740b-3921-440e-bc9d-aefb95121d7c/summary

Objective: The use of gene editing technology is not without controversy given its close alignment with related but different genetic modification (GM). Therefore communicating the science of gene editing is vitally important in order to ensure that the public fully understand the technology and can therefore make informed decisions about its use. Applicants must be early career professionals who are NOT professional science communicators but rather are interested in using science communication in their future careers.
