PlantEd – COST Action CA18111 – Genome editing in plants

New publication on public perceptions from PlantEd WG4

A team in PlantEd WG4, led by Dr Eza Wozniak-Gientka, has published a peer-reviewed article in the journal GM Crops & Food. The article, which reviews more than 400 publications on public perceptions of plant gene technologies, demonstrates examples of genetically modified and genome edited plants introduced to the market in different world regions and presents the public perception of state-of-the-art plant gene technologies in different regions of the world in the past 20 years. The results of the literature analysis show that the public in Europe and North America is more familiar with the notion of genome editing and genetically modified organisms than the public in other world regions.
